Athletic Director’s Welcome

Welcome to another year of Lake Nona Athletics. We are truly proud of what we have accomplished the past seven years. We have laid a solid foundation to support the success we’ve experienced across the board. I’m very proud of the Student-Athletes and Coaches here at Lake Nona who sacrifice a tremendous amount of time for the success they’ve had. The time committed is year round, not just during their sport seasons. This commitment from all is what makes us successful. “Year 8” brings forth a new set of goals and a new set of expectations. We will again work hard to meet these goals and expectations as we have done in the past. Each year the hard work pays dividends as we continue to have District, Regional, and Conference Champions, Players of the Year, Coaches of the Year, and many of our teams stay ranked in the Orlando Sentinel rankings and the Metro Conference rankings throughout their respective sport seasons. This past year, our athletic program once again finished 4th overall in Metro Conference All-Sports standings which is a testament to the hard work put in by all. Finally, I would like to say that I am extremely proud of our 28 FHSAA Academic Team Champions which are the teams that have a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. This goes along of emphasis of we are student-athletes, with student being first.

Lake Nona Stadium

I would like to thank NEMOURS Hospital for their sponsorship and commitment to Lake Nona High School and to our Athletic Department. We are very proud to play all of our home games at “NEMOURS Stadium” as it gives our athletes and coaches a sense of pride as we take the field. We have a valued partnership and they have assisted our student- athletes in many ways throughout the last five years. I’d also like to take the opportunity to thank all our other current community sponsors and partners for their willingness to support Lake Nona Athletes by purchasing banners in the stadium, the gym, the baseball field, and the softball field- we appreciate the support.

This year is exciting as we are launching our new Lake Nona Athletic website: This new website will enable us to get important information out to our students, parents, and community. It is currently in the beginning stage, but it will be a wealth of information once it’s fully up and running. In addition to our new website, we have a new 14-foot scorer’s table in the gym that has two 51” monitors where our community partners can advertise for our fans to see. This will enable us to find another income stream to assist with providing our athletes with the best possible experience they can have. If you’re interested in offering support, please contact us.

As athletic expectations continuously change from year-to-year, we continue to work diligently to improve in order to offer the best possible athletic program we can for our student-athletes. This year we are going to continue to be “ALL-IN.” We hope the “ALL-IN” philosophy continues to carry over to ALL our athletes, coaches, parents, and community as it takes a collective team effort to be truly successful.

Again, a special “Thank You” goes out to all our Student-athletes and Coaches who put in so much time as we continue to get better! I would also like to say “Thank You” to our Parents and Community for all of your support each and every year! Finally, I encourage everyone to come out and support Lake Nona Athletics, our coaching staff, and our student-athletes as we embark on another successful year. Together we will be continue to be great!
